earthquake

Assalamualaikum and hi all..

pagi ni kami kejutkan dengan berita gempa bumi yang berlaku di Christchurch,NZ dengan gegaran berukuran 7.4 skala rektor. sangat menakutkan. menurut sumber, it was the 7th largest quake ever in New Zealand. that's scary heh? when i heard about the disaster from one of my friends, i immediately went online and looked for my friend in Christchurch. lucky, she was online and she told me about the thing. she said it was so scary. mengucap panjang diorng because the quake was so tremendous. gegaran tu KUAT SANGAT, SANGAT.bekalan elektrik terputus. city dah tutup. even masa tengah chatting dengan dia tadi pun dia cakap gegaran masih ada lagi. rumah dan katil bergoyang-goyang. laci semua terbuka. banyak bangunan runtuh dan ramai ramai yang cedera.civil defence urges people to expect aftershocks. Masyallah, meremang bulu roma.

Diyana, be strong. pray hard. we're praying hard for you all in Christchurch. Insyaallah.last time during the lecture, the lecturer asked us where we do go if there is volcanoes eruption or earthquake? the first place came up in my mind was Mt. Eden because it is the highest place in Auckland. all of us gave our preferences. she was surprised with our answers and she thought we were kidding. but the thing is we really donno. she asked about our earthquake drill back in Malaysia. we told her that we never have earthquake drill. fire drill ada la. she said how come because it is very important to let people know about earthquake drill. the only reason for that is Malaysia doesn't have volcano and earthquake. she was unaware that Malaysia doesn't have those. then she told us that the safest place was basement. i was like huh? really? i thought we should go the highest point at our place. the reason is that, before the volcanoes erupt the lava, the ash will come out first and the ash itself is so dangerous. we might get hurt because it kinda hot ( not sure to use the appropriate word) and somehow burn our skin and it could even damage the building and the building might collapse on the ground.

she asked us about how many volcanoes in Auckland. most of us said 5 or 6 because the obvious one are Rangitoto and Mt. Eden but we were wrong. THERE ARE 60 VOLCANOES PLACE IN AUCKLAND. not NZ, but only in Auckland. can you imagine that?

Rangitoto Island...the shape itself is like equator... could be seen from my window

Mt. Eden equator...VERY big...but i like Mt. Eden because it is so breathtaking

Lets pray for our friends in Christchurch.
